UAE startups head to Moscow for global summit

A UAE delegation will join more than 4,000 startup professionals from 25 countries at the Moscow Startup Summit on October 1–2, 2025, in a bid to accelerate cross-regional funding and collaboration.

The summit, founded by the Government of Moscow and Sberbank, has already attracted over 1,700 award submissions from across Russia, with winners to be announced during the event. Artificial intelligence is expected to dominate discussions, with nearly one-third of entries falling into the Best AI Solution category.

Moscow, home to 1,688 startups — the largest share in Russia — will host the event at Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoe, the new SberCity smart district. Organisers say the UAE’s participation highlights growing ties between the Gulf and Russia’s startup ecosystems at a time when global venture funding reached $91 billion in Q2 2025.

Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, said the event will connect innovators, investors, and policymakers. “Participation has already been confirmed from 25 countries, including the UAE. We look forward to building meaningful partnerships across regions,” she said.
