Sharjah has successfully mapped more than 2.8 million square metres of real estate, documenting over 1,300 projects and 42,000 properties across residential, commercial, industrial, and service sectors.
The initiative, led by the Sharjah Department of Municipalities Affairs, forms a core part of the emirate’s “Aqari” digital real estate platform, launched by the Sharjah Digital Authority to modernise property management and planning.
Sultan Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department, said the project is a key milestone in advancing digital transformation across Sharjah’s real estate sector. “Our goal is to build a comprehensive digital database detailing the size and specifications of every building in the emirate. This data will inform future urban planning and reflects close coordination between Sharjah’s government entities,” he explained.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Department, added that the initiative represents a major leap in how property data is managed and used. “We’re restructuring and digitising all building details to make them compatible with artificial intelligence applications,” he said. “This will automate real estate services, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency in how property information is updated and accessed.”
The “Aqari” platform underscores Sharjah’s continued efforts to integrate digital governance and smart data systems across key economic sectors, aligning with the emirate’s broader vision for a more transparent, efficient, and technology-driven real estate market. – WAM
