I’m Ahmed Shehzad, 24, born and raised in Dubai. I recently graduated from university, got married, and now run my own media company creating Instagram and TikTok content for businesses across the UAE. Today, I live in Masaar, Sharjah, with my parents, younger brother, and wife — a move that marks a new chapter for all of us.
The decision to shift here was a family one. My parents bought a five-bedroom villa, but I was closely involved in the process. We had sold our house in Sports City and needed a new place. Masaar appealed to us for its design, price, and location, especially its proximity to my brother’s school and my parents’ workplaces.
Our villa has a practical layout with one bedroom on the ground floor and four upstairs, which makes it a true family home. But what sets Masaar apart for me is the atmosphere. It’s beautiful and green, giving that neighbourhood feel you often miss in bigger cities like Dubai. We managed to buy the villa through a distressed resale deal, which made it even more affordable.

Daily life feels calmer here. The greenery, cycling tracks, and open spaces make a big difference. My younger brother has already made friends to play football and swim with, and that means a lot to me watching him grow up in a place where he feels he belongs.
I also like the smart home features, the quality finishes, and the privacy the L-shaped villa design offers. Outside, we enjoy the community’s facilities: tennis and basketball courts, tree-shaded walking paths, and of course, the sense of security and good maintenance. The only drawback is the commute to Dubai, but 15–20 minutes of traffic feels manageable.
Looking ahead, I see real promise in the areas around Masaar. Tilal City is expanding with schools, malls, and hospitals coming up, so we don’t feel we’re missing out on anything.
For me, this choice was more than just a transaction. Owning is better than renting — it’s an asset. But beyond that, it’s about vibes. Masaar just felt right: secure, green, and a place where family life can truly flourish. — as told to Eajey
