The Emiratis Council for Balanced Development has announced the launch of the Emirates Villages Run Series, a nationwide community sporting initiative held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs’ Families Affairs and Chairman of the Council.
Organised as part of the Year of Community 2025 and supported by ADNOC, the series is being rolled out in partnership with sports councils, municipalities, and tourism authorities across the UAE.
Open to families, women, youth, senior citizens, people of determination, schools, companies, and sports clubs, the runs aim to encourage healthy lifestyles and inclusivity in sport. A total prize pool of AED 500,000 will be awarded across the events.
The calendar begins in Fujairah’s Qidfa on October 11, followed by Ajman’s Masfout on October 18, Al Rams in Ras Al Khaimah on October 25, and Falaj Al Mualla in Umm Al Quwain on November 1. The series then moves to Dibba Al Hisn in Sharjah on November 22, Al Lisaili in Dubai on November 29, and concludes in Al Shuwaib, Abu Dhabi, on December 6.
Beyond competition, the initiative seeks to showcase the UAE’s diverse landscapes and heritage. Traditional Emirati performances will feature at each event, highlighting culture while promoting tourism opportunities in villages across the Emirates.
The series is designed to strengthen community engagement, volunteerism, and shared responsibility, reflecting the leadership’s vision of fostering unity and collective progress.
