Dubai Airports has appointed Paralympian Jessica Smith, disability rights advocate Fatma Al Jassim, and the family foundation Team AngelWolf as strategic advisors, in a move to make Dubai International (DXB) the world’s most accessible and inclusive airport.
The advisors will help identify gaps, challenge assumptions, and co-create solutions that reflect the lived experiences of People of Determination. The collaboration underlines Dubai Airports’ belief that accessibility extends beyond infrastructure and must be shaped by direct community input.
“True inclusion begins with listening,” said Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports. “By focusing on the lived experiences of our guests, we can challenge our own assumptions and co-create an airport experience that moves us closer to becoming the world’s most inclusive hub.”
Smith, who represented Australia at the 2004 Paralympic Games, is an award-winning consultant on disability inclusion. Al Jassim is a leading Emirati voice in accessibility advocacy. Team AngelWolf, a Dubai-based foundation, is recognised globally for inclusive sporting achievements and Guinness World Records.
The partnership builds on DXB’s existing efforts. Earlier this year, the airport became the first international hub globally to be designated a Certified Autism Center by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), after training more than 53,000 employees in hidden disabilities practices.
