Dubai is known for convenience, from groceries delivered at your doorstep to car refuelling in your parking lot. Yet, finding a place to live in Dubai, especially if you have to share with someone, has never been straightforward. From tackling unverified listings to meeting potential roommates with no guarantee of compatibility, young expatriates and students often find themselves vulnerable to scams and misrepresentation.
This struggle sparked the idea for Roomy Finder, a new app designed to make house-hunting in the city more reliable, secure, and convenient.

The app offers advanced matching features that go far beyond location and price. Tenants can filter potential living situations by language, cultural background, and lifestyle habits, whether they are early risers or night owls. Every property and profile is verified, with landlords required to submit ownership documents or agency agreements and tenants confirming their identity through Emirates ID or passport checks. Payments are processed securely through the app, removing the risks associated with cash transactions and informal agreements.
“For many young expats moving here, finding the right roommate often means turning to Facebook groups or word of mouth,” said Rabieh Ansari, a UAE resident currently searching for a roommate. “An app like this makes it easier to connect with people closer to our age and lifestyle. A city like Abu Dhabi could definitely benefit from something like this.”
The team behind Roomy Finder emphasises that the platform is built on the principles of trust and safety. “Our mission is to simplify shared living in Dubai by fostering trust and convenience,” said Ahad Al Salman, Founder and CEO of Roomy Finder. “With verified listings, secure payments, and smart filters, we’re setting a new standard for rental solutions.”
The app is free for tenants to create profiles, browse listings, and connect with potential roommates. Landlords and agents pay a low fixed fee to post properties, with no percentage cut taken from transactions.
Roomy Finder’s launch comes at a time when Dubai’s rental market is becoming increasingly competitive. With a steady influx of young professionals and students, the demand for affordable shared living spaces is high.
